  • A legitimation card is a work and residency card issued by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAE) to ILO staff members and if applicable to family members at Geneva. The legitimation card allows you to work in the ILO and to reside in Switzerland. It also replaces the need for a Schengen visa for those nationals who are obliged to obtain a visa to enter Switzerland and it allows them to travel freely for short stays within the Schengen area.
