- ILO staff mobility geographically to different duty stations and upwardly through promotion. There are three types of mobility: temporary mobility which is a short term geographical and/or functional assignment for a minimum duration of three months and a maximum of less than one year, geographical mobility which is the assignment of an official from one duty station to another for a minimum period of one year at the same or higher grade., and functional mobility which is the assignment of an official at the same or higher grade to a different position within the same duty station for a minimum period of one year.
